Concussion Training

CONCUSSION TRAINING (All Volunteers)

All adult volunteers must take the concussion training from Heads Up every 3 years to volunteer with Little League. A training certificate must be submitted to the league before volunteering.

Little League Diamond Leader Training Program

Little League® Diamond Leader Training Program (Tournament Coaches)

Focused on ensuring children have a positive, well-rounded experience on and off the field, this program is a FREE educational resource that provides coaches with an understanding of the impact that mental, social, and emotional well-being has in youth sports through detailed information, interactive scenarios, and a variety of additional resources. Over time, Little League will continue to evaluate this course and look to provide additional opportunities for extended learning. A training certificate must be submitted before coaching tournaments.

ABUSE AWARENESS FOR ADULTS

ABUSE AWARENESS TRAINING by Little League (All Volunteers)

In 2018, the “Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and SafeSport Authorization Act of 2017” became Federal law. The mission of the US Center for Safesport is to make the athlete well-being the centerpiece of our nation’s sports culture. All athletes deserve to participate in sports free from bullying, hazing, sexual misconduct, or any form of emotional or physical abuse. Education and awareness are the most critical components to creating safe and respectful sporting environments, free of abuse and harassment.

Little League Baseball and Softball have always strived to create a safe and healthy environment for all Little Leaguers and their families. There are certain requirements from the SafeSport Act that Little League International and all local little league programs must adhere to.

FIRST AID AWARENESS COURSE

FIRST AID AWARENESS COURSE (All Volunteers)

The Little League First Aid Awareness Course is designed to introduce volunteers to common injuries, basic first aid principles, and important response considerations specific to the Little League environment. This course is not a certification program, but it provides practical awareness and guidance to help volunteers recognize injuries, respond appropriately, and understand when additional medical care may be needed.   Little League First Aid Awareness Course

This course supports leagues in strengthening preparedness and promoting player safety throughout the season.

Your course completion will show up in the West Branch Little League data center so no need to send a certificate of completion.

Safety Awareness Training Course

SAFETY AWARENESS COURSE (Optional but highly recommended for all volunteers)

The safety and well-being of all participants in the Little League® program continues to be a top priority, and creating a safe, positive environment is a shared responsibility. Each season, leagues and volunteers play an important role in identifying risks, preparing for emergencies, and supporting a fun and consistent experience for players and families.

The Little League Safety Awareness Course provides volunteers with a broad overview of key safety concepts and best practices that support safe league operations. Designed specifically for the Little League program, this course helps volunteers better understand their role in promoting safety, recognizing potential hazards, and supporting a strong culture of safety throughout the season.

This course serves as a foundational resource for leagues and volunteers committed to keeping safety front and center.

Safe Summary 2026

What is Little League® SAFE?

For nearly 30 years, Little League’s A Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) has set the standard for safety across local leagues, reducing injuries and strengthening volunteer readiness. Building on that success, Little League has launched two new initiatives, Little League SAFE and SAFE to Play. Little League SAFE brings together trusted safety resources to help leagues provide a safe, positive, and consistent experience for players, volunteers, and families. Safety is a shared responsibility, and SAFE supports leagues in building a strong, informed approach to safety at every level of the game. SAFE provides education, tools, and resources to help leagues build and maintain safer programs, while SAFE to Play establishes annual compliance requirements and a recognition structure that measures participation and rewards achievement.

SAFE Pillars

Organized around four core safety pillars, SAFE offers practical guidance, training, and best practices that protect children, promote physical safety, support mental well-being, and strengthen responsible league operations. Together, these resources help leagues prepare volunteers, support players, and foster an environment where kids can learn, grow, and enjoy the game throughout the season.
